The Cannes Film Festival is famous in India more for the red carpet hits and misses by the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and more recently Vidya Balan. Cannes 2014: THE GOOD- She is back and how! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan showed the world she's totally worth it when she finally stepped onto the Cannes red carpet this time. Ash glittered in a gold Roberto Cavalli off-shoulder dress as she stepped out on the red carpet for the premiere of 'Two Days, One Night'. With her hair in a left loose and a dash of bold red lip colour that did all the talking, Ash surely looked like a goddess! With constant speculations about what she will wear and how she will look, Aishwarya silenced her critics as she sizzled on the red carpet.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Stuns In Red

The hall at the ITC Grand Chola Sheraton was all decked up for a welcome that’s befitting to the most beautiful woman in the world Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and a member of India’s cinema royalty, no preparation seemed too much as she walked in to flurry of flashes.

Elegant as always in a red saree with a golden zari border paired fittingly with jasmine flowers on her hair, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan arrived over an hour late but managed to bring the attention back to the matter at hand with a warm namaskaram and a vanakkam in that voice that’s familiar to us all.

In the city to launch Life Cell’s public stem cell banking program,Aishwarya Rai Bachchan spoke at large about her own experience storing the umbilical cord during delivery calling the procedure a ‘precious gift’ for her daughter Aaradhya, she says, “I just found out today (Sunday) is parent’s day and honestly, after giving birth, I’ve realized every day is parents’ day. I feel blessed to have received such a gift. Couples who are expecting should be aware of it and it’s a selfless and precious gift one can give to their children.”

Aishwarya Rai all set to perform for Uttarakhand Flood Victims

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was last seen gracing the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2013, is up for a noble cause. She would reportedly be performing on a few patriotic songs this Independence Day to support the Uttarakhand flood victims. "The actress will apparently be performing to a medley of patriotic songs for the event. Abhishek Bachchan has also given his nod for the show", stated a source.

The event titled Saath Hai Hum Uttarakhand is said to be a seven hour long on air marathon that has been initiated by a TV channel. Providing further details about the fund raiser event, the source added, "The ad revenue generated during the telecast will be channeled to not-for-profit bodies that are working to restore normalcy in the hilly region. The stars and all those associated with the on-ground event for the performances have done it gratis to espouse the Uttarakhand cause".

Not just Aishwarya, several other Bollywood celebrities including Lata Mangeshkar, A. R. Rahman,Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Ajay Devgan, Kajol, Neha Dhupia, John Abraham, Abhay Deol and Boman Irani have also come forward to extend their support to these victims. Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit have recently shot for a promo for this event. Both the celebrities are glad about getting the opportunity to help those in distress. "Worked on the Uttarakhand Telethon song and poem by Prasoon Joshi .. and SEL music - thats Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and not the Benz model", Amitabh lately tweeted.

A number of television stars would also be contributing their bit to this initiative.
