Kochadaiyaan to release on Rajinikanth's birthday 12.12.2013

The long-awaited Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan, his first release in 3 years following his illness and slow recovery, has finally found a release date. The long-anticipated spectacle is all set to be released on 12 December, the day Rajinikanth turns 63.

We've heard a lot of false release dates for Kochadaiyaan for the last one and a half years. But now finally the film's co-producer Dr. Murli Manohar confirms, "We are aiming at a 12 December, 2013 release for the film, finally. It's been a long struggle. But we wanted Rajiniji's fans to get the most perfect film after a 3-year wait. I think we've achieved what we set out to do."

The film's music by A R Rahman will be released in October.

The release of Kochadaiyaan in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and several other languages including Japanese makes it the most global Rajinikanth release ever.

It looks like Deepika Padukone who plays Rajinikanth's female lead in Kochadaiyaan would have 4 back-to-back blockbusters in 2013. While Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express have already smashed box-office records, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela and Kochadaiyaan which Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya directs would consolidate Deepika's position as the no.1 Bollywood diva.

Interestingly, this special-effects laden action film Kochadaiyaan comes just a week ahead of Yash Raj'sDhoom 3 which releases on 20 December.

Amitabh Bachchan to cut ribbon for 19th Kolkata International Film Festival

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival in the month of November. Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of Kolkata has made an official declaration regarding the same, “I am very happy and delighted to share with you all, that Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji, a great legend, has kindly accepted our invitation to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival to be held on 10th November, 2013.”

Bollywood celebrities like, Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are also expected to be present at the film festival. CM Mamta Banerjee has said that she is making efforts to get whole Bachchan family at the event and at the same time she said that state’s brand ambassador SRK is also likely to be present there. If all these celebs come in the film festival then it would be really amazing for their fans to see all of them on the same platform together.

Bhagya Laxmi demanding Rs 2 Cr!

Gabbar Singh 2 team have lost the last hope on roping Deepika Padukone opposite Pawan Kalyan and have launched their hunt to find the perfect girl who fits the bill.

The script seemed ready and so does our Power Star but for lack of heroine the movie has not gone on floors yet.

Sampath Nandi has been on the manhunt mission for the last one month yet it doesn’t seem to yield fruitful results to sign lead lady as Gabbar Singh’s Bhagya Lakshmi.


Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha have been the two girls they seriously considered and Pawan felt that Deepika could be a better bet considering the glam factor she could be adding to the project, making, pre-release and the movie. The makers got a shock when the two girls demanded whopping high Rs 2 crores. Going by Pawan’s recommendation when they approached Deepika, more shocks came. Her 2 crores remuneration came with many conditions applied including shoot timings. Although Sonakshi didn’t lay conditions, the makers are dillydallying if they can settle with someone from South itself.

Gopichand Nayantara Movie In Switzerland

The Gopichand - Nayantara starrer being directed by veteran director B. Gopal, produced by Tandra Ramesh on Jaya Balaji Real Media, which was formally launched on the 16th August, has flown to Switzerland for regular shooting. Mani Sharma is giving music for the film.

The producer spoke about the proceedings of the film, said 'We will shoot on the Swiss soil till the 12th of September. Will finish canning two songs written by Sri Mani, choreographed by Dinesh Master. Second schedule will be from September 25th for about three weeks. Two more schedules in November and December, the shooting part will be finished'

Praaksh raj is doing a special role in the film which has Bala Murugan as the cinematographer.
