It’s all set for Mega Power star Ram Charan Tej’s Bollywood debut. Charan, already a star in his own respect in Telugu, is making his debut in Bollywood with Zanjeer film. This son of Megastar has selected another superstar’s cult classic hit for his debut in Hindi. With lot of stakes and expectations Charan’s debut bolly movie Zanjeer is releasing this Friday. As the movie is the remake of a huge hit of yesteryears, there is lot of buzz surrounding it. Priyanka Chopra is acting as heroine opposite Charan.

* Apoorva Lakhia is directing this mega budget action movie being produced by Reliance Entertainments. Charan has proved himself in Telugu. It has to be seen whether he will recreate the same success in Hindi. Zanjeer is being released in Telugu as Thoofan. It’s coming after successive hits Raccha and Nayak. Let’s find out whether he will score a hat-trick and hoist Telugu flag high in Bollywood.

* Zanjeer is one of the all time great movies of Bollywood. It is Zanjeer which brought Amitab Bachan the sobriquet of ‘Angry Young Man’. Every top hero dreams of a role like it. You offer the role to any top hero, he will lap it up without second thoughts. It’s just Charan’s luck that he got an opportunity to star in Zanjeer remake.

* It’s a dream come true for Charan that a successful top director like Apoorva Lakhia selected him to get into Big B’s shoes. Apoorva Lakhia has a good track record with hits like Mission Istanbul and Dus kahaniya to his credit. Apoorva Lakhia has zeroed in on Charan after watching Magadheera and waited for 8 months for Charan’s dates.

* Director Apoorva Lakhia has not remade Zanjeer as it is. He has incorporated many changes in tune with present times and trend. Apoorva also kept in mind Charan’s image in Telugu. While Hindi version will be tune with Bollywood style, Telugu version Thoofan will satisfy both Telugu audience and Mega fans it seems.

* The story runs in the backdrop of oil mafia. Charan appears as ACP Vijay. Movie team is saying that, chemistry between Charan and Priyanka Chopra has clicked. Hot scenes are also said to be there between Priyanka and Charan.

* Srihari and Tanikella Bharani played important roles. Thoofan is the first movie in the combination of Srihari and Charan after Magadheera. Mega fans are banking on sentiment thinking that like Magadheera even Thoofan will become a stupendous hit. It is said that Srihari has come up with excellent performance in the role of Sher Khan.

* Zanjeer is releasing in highest number of theatres world wide. This is a record in Charan’s career.

* Even in Telugu it is being released on a mega scale. Though situation is problematic in Seemandhra region, movie makers have been releasing it daringly.

* The movie has gathered publicity as producers approached court for security for the movie.

'Thoofan' Gets A Certified

Ram Charan's most awaited film 

'Thoofan', the Telugu version of the remake of 1970's blockbuster 'Zanjeer' has been awarded 'A' certificate and will be released across the world on the 6th September as announced. The film unit said in a press release that the censor members were moved by the efforts of the makers and Charan's performance. The Hindi version 'Zanjeer' is also set to hit the screens the same day.

The film has veteran star Sanjay Dutt playing Sher Khan, played by Srihari in Telugu, his second rendezvous with Ram Charan as 'Sher Khan' after Magadheera. Priyanka Chopra is playing the 'Damsel In Distress' Mala. While Prakash Raj is playing mafia don Teja, Tanikella Bharani is playing a key role too. The film is being jointly produced by Reliance Entertainments, Prakash Mehra Productions and Flying Turtle Films and directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

Priyanka Chopra skips Zanjeer event in Hyderabad for Ram Leela

While there have been reports of Priyanka Chopra being miffed with her Zanjeer co-star Ramcharan Teja for apparently showing up late for their promotional event, the truth is, Ms Chopra too is very busy, too busy to even attend the massive music release function of Thoofan, the Telugu version of Zanjeer on Wednesday in Hyderabad.

A source from Hyderabad says, "We were very surprised when PC didn't show up in Hyderabad. It was very big day for the Telugu Zanjeer and also for Ramcharan Teja's wife Upasana. Her family's Apollo chain of hospitals turned 25 years old on Wednesday. First there was a grand event at the Novotel hotel for the Apollo parivaar where Upasana's grandfather who founded the Apollo chain was present. This was followed by the Thoofan music release at which all of Ramcharan's directors so far (he has done only 4 Telugu films) came on stage to wish him all the best."

Priyanka, we hear from Hyderabad, was to appear at both the events in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Instead she was seen in Mumbai on Wednesday evening walking the ramp for Neeta Ambani.

When asked about conspicuous absence in Hyderabad, Zanjeer director Apoorva Lakhia defended his heroine stoutly. "PC has been co-operation personified. She has been promoting Zanjeer and Thoofan, and shooting for her song in Ram Leela. The reason she didn't show up in Hyderabad was because she attended a fashion event in Mumbai for our Zanjeer producers (Reliance). And she sent a video message for our music function in Hyderabad which was beamed on every channel on Andhra Pradesh."

Regarding reports that Ramcharan pissed off  Priyanka by showing up late for Zanjeer events, a source from the Zanjeer team informs, "Yes. Ramcharan did show up more than an hour late for an event last week at the Mithibhai College in Mumbai. But that was because his driver got into a verbal scuffle. Ramcharan apologized to Priyanka and she was just fine with it. Now someone wants to portray Ramcharan as non-punctual and indisciplined on the eve of his Hindi release then what can we do? The truth is he is as driven, committed and punctual as PC."

His presence raises the expectations

In recent times there is news that Venkatesh and Ram Charan are going to share the screen space for a film. Now the expectations on this multi-starrer have become stronger.

Ram Charan’s forthcoming bilingual film Zanjeer/Thoofan audio was launched which was held on yesterday, by Victory Venkatesh. Hence, with the presence of Venkatesh in the event the expectations have become much stronger on their multi-starrer project while sources from film circles confirm the project.

Creative genius Krishna Vamsi is going to wield the megaphone for the film and Bandla Ganesh will produce this big-budget film under Parameswara Arts production banner. Super Star Krishna is expected to play a prominent role. An official announcement on the film is awaited.

Meanwhile Ram Charan is busy with Zanjeer/Thoofan promotions along with actress Priyanka Chopra and Venkatesh is busy with the shooting schedules of Bol Bachchan remake titled Masala.
